What! "Dementia-13" not a career highlight? If I recall correctly, this was the movie that Roger Corman threw at a young Francis Ford Coppola to complete. And the rest is a big ol' Marlon Brando shot in shadow so you don't see how fat he is.
Yes, that's true. I thought about mentioning Dementia-13 but let's be honest. There are two people that read my piece who knew about this and we are them.
I seem to recall D-13 showing up on a local network's "Creature Feature" and a warning was given because of the violence. If I recall correctly, it's pretty tame ... axe murders aside.
I haven't seen it. At least I don't think I have. There was a video store in Murfreesboro, Tennessee back when I was in school. The place was a converted house, and they specialized in horror. Every square inch of the tiny living room/show room was filled with stacks of VHS tapes of the most obscure films you can imagine. I had a roommate that practically lived there, so it's possible I have seen it and just didn't remember. It's a good piece of trivia though—I probably should have written a footnote. Just the mere fact that Coppola was Roger Corman's sound guy is such a weird piece of information.
