Patrick Followup

Hi folks, just wanted to send you a quick missive to say thank you for your generosity vis-a-vis last week’s request. We raised a cool $500,¹ which is a bit over twice what was required. I bought the laptop and I’ll be heading to DHL to ship it today. Patrick’s response was delightful:

“Oh thank you so much my heart is full of joy and I am speechless this is one of the most happiest moment of my life am so pleased and delighted for the help.”

A fellow in Kentucky working with YES Africa Foundation saw my post and contacted me. He grew up in Penyem and is going back in December to help start a nonprofit to assist young people in the country, so we’ve been chatting. I’m looking into his organization as a possible landing place for the extra funds, though I’ll wait a bit and make sure Patrick gets started in college without further financial obstacles.

It’s been a rather amazing few weeks, and I hope to bring more good stories out of it in the future. Thanks, everyone!
