Sorry folks, no words this week, other than the limp, overcooked sentence you’re reading right now, in which I explain to you that I’m in Nashville visiting my mom and we’re watching Wolf Hall, the BBC production about the association between Henry VIII in his dealings with three of his sextet of wives, and the scheming consigliere Thomas Cromwell—not to be confused with that other, more notorious English Cromwell, Oliver, of Civil War fame—and it’s a really rich and subtle program that despite its mere six episodes really packs in a story far more intricate than some spanning hundreds, and therefore I’m just going to think about that and get my German writing done and get some sleep. Next time.
