Yes, visiting. Shirin's Mom, being from Tehran, can not visit us here. Fortunately, Shirin has family in London so we can meet up there and have a place to stay, cousins for Kasra to play with, etc. We go when we can. This year, I tried working remotely from there for a week before taking some days off. I took Kasra and his cousin to the Tower that Tuesday. I'd seen it about 20 years ago and it was nice to go back. It's a really cool place. We also went on a short overnight trip to Bath this time, where we toured the Roman baths complex. That was a top three coolest places that I've been contender.
We got back Saturday night and are currently recovering from the jet lag. Glad to be home, actually. Three weeks away is perfect, I think, even though I was working for a lot of that. Two weeks there feels like it's time to leave just as you're getting accustomed to being there. After three weeks, I felt like I'd consumed enough London for this visit, though it is my favorite city that I've seen (admittedly, a short list). I was very happy to get back home.
I (sort of) learned some Deutsche years ago (30). Now I'm attempting Scots Gaelic and I continually (mis)pronounce much of it with a decidedly German accent. I think it's due to the soft clearing of phlegm from the rear of the throat consonant that the languages seem to share.
What a coincidence! I was standing in the very spot where Anne Boleyn’s head was removed just last Tuesday. Isn’t that odd?
Oh that's nuts. Did you go to the Tower? What were you doing in England? Vacay?

Well that sounds hella fun. I have a definite fetish for English history but as yet have not been able to indulge it in person.
I never expected to say someone sold me on reading a book about Henry VIII, but you just did.
It's a regular smorgasbord. I'm barely able to follow the history, but the language is just gorgeous.
I've been learning Italian for 6 years. Kill me now. I am small I am small I am so very small.
Obsession helps. Ask my kids: it’s Berlin in our house. At all times.

Do you mean the gutteral R? That sounds like a cat call? I love that sound. It's probably my favorite single thing about German.
The comment threading in this application makes no sense. If you get inappropriate replies from me, just know it wasn't my fault.
